Royal Mail Special Delivery Service

Thomas Exchange delivers banknotes anywhere in the UK with Royal Mail Special Delivery.

You can only pay for this service via a secure bank transfer payment (details below). Please do not pay cash directly into our account – as your order will be rejected & additional charges will apply. Furthermore, kindly note that this service is for private customers and not businesses, please do not pay from a business account. If you wish to purchase currency for your company, please contact us directly.

  1. If your bank is offering the Faster Payments service, we will usually receive your payment within 2 hours. If payment for your order is received by 3pm, your Banknotes will be despatched the same day. In this case, you can expect delivery within 1 or 2 working days.

  2. Due to exchange rate fluctuations, payments must be received within 1 working day or the order may be subject to cancellation or adjustment.

There is a £12.50 per £1500 sterling equivalent (or part of) per order to cover the cost of insurance for Royal Mail Delivery Service (this fee does not apply to In-Store Collection Service).

Please note that if your present or previous combined currency purchases come to a total of £4000 or over, we will require some further information from you, please see "Identification Requirements", below.

Identification Requirements

Under HMRC Money Laundering regulations, we are required to keep full records of current and previous currency transactions totalling £4000 and above, together with copies of identification provided.

If your present or previous combined currency purchases come to a total of £4000 or over, we will require the following documentation from you prior to your order being despatched:

  • Photocopy of your current Passport.
  • Photocopy of a recent proof of Address such as a utility bill, or bank statement dated within the last three months (please note that we cannot accept mobile phone bills).
  • In some circumstances, we may require further details from you.

One of our team will contact you with further information upon receiving your order details.

How we use your data

To prevent fraud, Thomas Exchange UK Ltd will electronically verify the details that you provide, this will leave a soft footprint on your credit report. These are not full credit searches and will not affect your credit rating in any way.
